Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effect and change of the cerebral vascular hymodynamics analyzing(CVA) index of hypertension with salvianotoginseng capsule. Methods:62 cases (observation group) took salvianotoginseng capsule 1.8 g each time, twice daily, while another 50 cases as control group took captopril, 25 mg each time 3 times daily, all for 90 days. Blood pressure and the index of CVA such as Qmean, Vmax, Vmean, Vmin, Zcv, Wv, DI, Rv, SP, DP during the period of treatment were recorded. Results:It was observed that the systolic pressure (SBP) of the observation group was lowered down from (157.9±24.2) mmHg to (140.9±13.2) mmHg, diastolic pressure (DBP) from (94.7±9.8) mmHg to (87.6±7.8) mmHg with a similar effect to the control group (96.8%/96.0%, P>0.05). More important, it was found that CVA index of the observation group had a significant change when compared to the control group (χ2=54.8, P<0.01). The followups showed that the morbidity of stroke and frequency of blood pressure unstability were lower in the observation group than those in the control group (0/4.44%; 0/6.52%, χ2=4.8, P<0.05). Conclusion:Salvianotoginseng has a slow but lasting and reliable effect on lowering the hypertension. It also improves the index of CVA and can prevent strokes from occurring.
