Herald of Medicine is a national academic journal governed by China Association for Science and Technology and sponsored by Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. The journal is published on the first day of every month.
The journal mainly publishes medical academic papers related to drugs, with the exception of herbal medicine cultivation, traditional Chinese medicine identification, chemical drug structural identification and drug synthesis, pharmacy education, etc. The contents include frontiers, hot spots and focuses of pharmacy, basic research on drugs, pharmaceutical preparation process, drug quality control, drug clinical efficacy observation, drug safety evaluation, drug system evaluation and Meta-analysis, pharmacy management, etc.Submission and subscription are welcome.

1 Manuscript Submission Process
Please submit your manuscript online (www.yydbzz.com). This journal does not accept posting or E-mail submissions.When submitting a manuscript, please log in to the website of Herald of Medicine, click on "Author Submission and Checking Area" on the homepage of the website. After registration and login, author should upload a letter of introduction from the first author's institution and a letter of authorization for the exclusive use of the paper which can be downloaded in the homepage of the website "Download Center" and should be signed by all authors. If the manuscript is supported by any fund, authors should upload the proof of the fund. And if the manuscript is a clinical trial research, authors should upload the ethical approval. Finally, click "Submit Now" after uploading the manuscript. The review fee of the journal is 60 CNY per manuscript, and the page fee will be charged and invoiced after the manuscript is approved by "three reviews". Please pay the review fee and page fee through the online payment system on the website, or pay by bank transfer if it is paid by an institution. The bank account is as followed: China Merchants Bank Qiaokou Branch (bank code number 882728), account number 270380023710001, account name Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In the abstract of the transfer, "name of author", "manuscript number" and "Herald of Medicine" should be indicated. The first author's institution in the letter of introduction is responsible for the authenticity and confidentiality of the paper, and declares that there are no multiple submissions. The author's name, institution name, address, postal code, telephone and E-mail must be clearly written. For multi-authored papers, the names of the authors should be listed in order of their contribution to the paper, and the consent of the other authors should be obtained. Once an article is submitted, the bylines should not be changed.

2 Manuscript Processing
The authors are responsible for the content of the manuscript. The editorial staff has the right to edit manuscripts, and manuscripts cannot be re-submitted to other journals without the consent of the editorial office during the period of review and printing. If the manuscript is found to have ethical problems or academic misconduct, the manuscript will be withdrawn and returned, regardless of whether it is published or not. And the authors will be blacklisted as academic misconduct. The journal has joined the full-text databases such as Chinese Academic Journals (CD-ROM version), China Journal Network, Wanfang Database, and Superstar Journal Database. All accepted manuscripts are entered into the databases, so please submit your manuscript to other journals if you have any objection. If the manuscripts are original papers supported by provincial, ministerial or national funds, and/or important original researches, the journal will publish them through "China Knowledge Network" as soon as possible and the printed version will be published within 8-12 months after the manuscripts are approved by relevant experts.
Once the editorial team receives the manuscript and its supporting documents, as well as review fee on the website, the editorial workflow will begin. All manuscripts will be reviewed by editor (first review), two peer experts (second review), and editor-in-chief (final review) through the remote editing system, i.e. the "three reviews" system. Finally, editor comprehensively considers the opinions of the three reviews and informs the manuscript processing results through the website remote editing system. If the manuscript needs to be revised, editor will provide specific suggestions according to the comments of the three reviews to the author for revision. After the revision, author should upload the revised manuscript through "Submit Revision" in the "Author Submission and Checking Area" on the journal website. The revised words in the manuscript should be marked in red, and the final manuscript should be uploaded in normal word format, not in revision mode. The editorial team will notify the authors on the website whether the manuscript is accepted after review and revision. According to the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China and the actual situation of our journal, authors may submit their manuscripts to other journals if they fail to find the results on the website after 3 months. If the manuscript is accepted, the journal will charge publishing fee of RMB 800-1000 yuan per page,and give the first author two copies of the current issue of the journal after the article is published, and pay the first author. The copyright of this journal belongs to Herald of Medicine.

3 Submission Requirements
The manuscript should be scientific, practical and informative, highlighting the content of reported medicine. It should include title, author, author institution, abstract, keywords, main text, tables, figures and references, etc. It is required to have clear viewpoint, reliable data, accurate conclusion, clear hierarchy, and concise text. Reviews, comments and research papers should be about 1,000 words or less, while other articles should be limited to about 6,000 words.
Since its 10th issue in 2018, Herald of Medicine has joined the Open Science Identity (OSID) program. So we can provide value-added services to readers by adding OSID to each article in the journal. All papers published in this journal will be added with OSID. Authors are required to upload a voice over that includes the background, purpose, motivation, inspiration, and stories of what happened during the research process. Additional materials such as other open scientific content and data will also be uploaded to the OSID.
Authors must check the "Editorial Bulletin" column on the home page of the journal's website (www.yydbzz.com) for "Please be sure to attach the OSID identification code (with instructions) to your manuscript when submitting it". OSID code and voice data upload are necessary for the official publication of the manuscript, so the cooperation of authors is important for the complete of publication process. The generated OSID identifier is placed below the keywords in Chinese.
