  ObjectiveTo provide evidence for clinical trial and to evaluate the safety of total flavonoids from rhizome of drynariae MethodsThe maximum tolerance of gastrogavage in mice: twenty mice were fed 30 mL·kg^-1 with the total flavonoids solution (0.40 g·mL^-1 ) by gastrogavage， the bite and sup， activity， psychosis， coat and skin， urine and faeces， and body weight were observed The maximum tolerance of gastrogavage in rats: twenty rats were given the same dose total flavonoids solution， and the same observation were done The acute toxicity trial in mice, LD50 was carried out by abdominal injection with 7 dosage groups， and the mice were observed for 7 days after one injection ResultsThe mice and rats had no abnormal changes in bite and sup， activity， psychosis， coat and skin， urine and faeces， and body weight There were no significant changes(P＞0.05) Only a little remain of the fed sample was found in the abdomen anatomizing And there were no remarkable pathological changes in all organs The median lethal dose of the total flavonoids was 5.99 g·kg^-1 ConclusionThere are no abnormal changes in the acute toxicity trial with total flavonoids from rhizome of drynariae, and the flavonoids are safe in clinical use

  ObjectiveTo establish the quality standard of bovine lactoferrin.MethodChemical analysis and HPLC were used to as identification of bovine lactoferrin, And HPLC was also used for the deterimination of bovine lactoferrin. ResultsThe standard curve has a good linearity within the range of 25 ～1 000 μg·mL^-1 ， r＝0.999 9. Conclusion This method is simple, accurate, reliable and can be used as a quality standard for bovine lactoferrin.

  Objective To establish a quality standard for xiaoerhuatanzhike granules MethodEphedrine， ipecacuanha， radix platycodi in xiaoerhuatanzhike granules were identified by TLC Ephedrine hydrochloride in the granule was determined by HPLCResults The linearity of ephedrine hydrochloride was good within the range of 0.04－0.20 μg·mL^-1. The RSD of repeatability and stability were 0.71% and 0.66%，respectively， and the average rate of recovery was 99.44% (n＝6).ConclusionThis method was shown to simple， convenient and precise， and can be used as a quality control for xiaoerhuatanzhike granules

  ObjectiveTo study the stability of 10hyctroxy camptothecin (HCPT ) nanoparticles in sterilized injection powder.Method HPLC method was adopt to detect the stability. The samples were separately set for 6 months at 40℃； strong light exposure for 10 days or constant temperature at 25℃ for 12 months. Results The contents of the main medicine and relative substances in these samples set for 6 months at 40℃, strong light exposure for 10 days or constant temperature at 25℃ for 12 months， had no remarkable changes， comparing with those in the beginning day. The particle diameter and encapsulation rate had no obvious change.Conclusion The sterilized injection powder of HCPT nanoparticles is stable at room temperature.

  ObjectiveTo study the effect of mycobacterium vaccae vaccine on eosinophil apoptosis in lung tissue of asthma guinea pigs MethodsThirty guinea pigs were randomly divided into control group， asthma group and mycobacterium vaccae vaccine group， and each group had 10 guinea pigs Asthma model of guinea pigs were induced by ovalbumin Each guinea pig of mycobacterium vaccae vaccine group was injected intramuscularly with 22.5 g mycobacterium vaccae vaccine 10 days before ovalbumin induction After the last induction， the number of inflammation cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was counted， pathology of lung tissue was checked and TdTmediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) technique was used to study the apoptosis of eosinophil in lung tissue ResultsThe number of eosinophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in mycobacterium vaccae vaccine group and in asthma group were (0.22±0.12)×108 ·L^-1 and(1.18±0.36)×108·L^-1，respectively(P＜0.01) Airway inflammation response in lung tissue in mycobacterium vaccae vaccine group was less than that in asthma group The AI (apoptosis index) of eosinophil in lung tissue of mycobacterium vaccae vaccine group and in asthma group were (23.8±5.4)%，(4.6±0.7)%， respectively (P＜0.01) ConclusionMycobacterium vaccae vaccine can decrease the amount of eosinophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and relieve airway inflammation response in lung tissue of asthma guinea pigs which is related to the apoptosis of eosinophil in lung tissue of asthma guinea pigs

  ObjectiveTo study the methods of fluticasone propionate inhaler in the treatment of asthma MethodThirty asthma patients were randomly divided into highdose group (n＝16) and lowdose group(n＝14) Fluticasone propionate was adopted to treat for 12 weeks. Then the changes of pulmonary function and symptoms were comparedResultsPulmonary function of the patients， no matter which degree they belonged to, had been improved more significantly by contrast to the pretreatment in highdose group (P＜0.01) There was no significant improvement of FEV1 in lowdose group (P＞0.05)， but there was significant improvement in PEF The changes between two groups were not significant (P＞0.05) The symptoms in both groups have been improved significantly (P＜0.01) Conclusion Asthma can be controlled effectively by highdose treatment or lowdose treatment And the choice is dependent upon the severity of asthma

  ObjectiveTo investigate the relation between application of the third and the fourth generation cephalosporins and multiantibioticresistant bacteria with extendedspectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) ,then improve rational drug therapy.Method We chose 443 inpatients with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI). The morning phlegm samples from the patients were collected and cultured There were 473 germs (except fungi) separated. The drug sensitivity of the germs were analyzed by KirbyBauer method， and the applications of the third and the fourth generation cephalosporins in the patients were recordedResultsIn 2001， 2002 and 2003, the rates of the third and the fourth generation cephalosporins application were 36.67%， 41.46% and 46.67%， respectively， the rate of E-coil with ESBLs were 17.65%， 38.00%， 39.02% ，respectively ， and the rate of Klebsiella spp with ESBLs 19.23%， 43.90% and 44.74%， respectively Conclusion The increasing rate of multiantibioticresistant bacteria with ESBLs is companied by the increasing use of the third and the fourth generation cephalosporins

  Objective To explore the antitumor mechanisms of mifepristone (RU486) Methods MCF-7 ER-positive and MDA-MB 435s ERnegative human breast cancer cell lines were treated with 10.5 mol·L^-1 RU486 for 72 h. The expression of apoptosis system Fas/FasL system, and antiapoptosis protein survivin， and the rate of the inhibited breast cancer cells were tested. ResultsThe expression of Fas/FasL system and survivin in MDA-MB 435s ER-negative human breast cancer cell line was higher than in ER-positive MCF-7cell. RU486 could upregulate the expression of Fas，increased apoptosis in MCF-7 cell， and downregulate the expression of survivin in the MDA-MB 435s cell. But RU486 could not affects growth of MDA-MB 435s cell. Conclusion RU486 has antitumor effect， but has different antitumor mechanism between steroid hormone receptor positive and negative breast cancer cell lines.

  Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of levodropropizine in cough treatment. MethodsFifty patients with nonproductive cough were randomly divided into two groups for a doubleblind control study The treatment group received levodropropizine 10 mL， po， tid， and the control group received dextromethorphan 10 mL, po, tid. All the patient were treated for 5 days.Results The clinical effective rates in the treatment group and in the control group were 69.56% and 61.90% , respectively(P＞0.05)， in severer cough treatment were 93.33% and 69.23%, respectively (P＜ 0.05). The adverse reaction rates in the treatment group and in the control group were 23.07%and 41.67%, respctively (P＞0.05).ConclusionLevodropropizine is safe and effective in cough treatment

  Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of quetiapine with clozapine in treatment of patients with schizophrenia. MethodSixtyone patients with schizophrenia were randomised into two groups, thirty patients treated with clozapine and thirtyone treated with quetiapine. positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS) and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS) were used to assess efficacy and safety before treatment and at the end of 1, 2, 4 and 8 week.ResultsThe PANSS scores in both groups decreased significantly after the treatment, and there is no significant difference between the two group (P＞0.05), but the quetiapine grouup had less adverse drug reaction (P＜0.01). ConclusionQuetiapine has similar efficacy with clozapine in treating schizophrenia, but has less adverse drug reaction than clozapine.

  ObjectiveTo study the effect of ceftazidine on aminophylline pharmacokinetics in rats. MethodTwelve rats fasting for 12 h were randomized into two equal groups. The control group were given 18 mg.kg^-1 of aminophylline intragastrically, and the test group were given 18 mg·kg^-1 of aminophylline intragastrically and 100 mg·kg^-1 of ceftazidine, i.m.. The concentration of theophylline in rat serum was detected at 0, 0.08, 0.50, 1.00, 2.00, 4.00, 6.00, 8.00, 12.00 hours by FPLA.ResultsTheophylline was eliminated by one compartment model. The pharmacokinetics parameters had no significant difference between the two groups.ConclusionCeftazidine has no effect in the metabolism of aminophylline.

  ObjectiveTo observe the therapeutic effects of puerarin injection combined with radix astragli injection on urine microprotein in patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathyMethodsSeventyeight patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy randomised into the treatment group (41 cases) and the control group (37 cases). The control group were treated with radix astragli injection 30 mL·d^-1， iv， gtt， qd， and the treatment group received the same medicine combined with puerarin injection 500 mg·d^-1 iv， gtt， qd. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The parameters of blood plasma such as TC， TG， PAGT， FIB and UAER were tested before and after the treatment.Results In the treatment group， the average values of the tested parameters were decreased significantly after the treatment than before the treatment (P＜0.05 or P＜0.01) Except TC and LDL-C， the average values of the tested parameters were also lowered significantly in the treatment group than in the control group (P ＜0.05 or P ＜0.01). ConclusionPuerarin injection can lower the blood lipids， improve blood viscosity， and decrease urine protein. The combination of puerarin injection with radix astragli injection has better effect than radix astragli injection alone in the treatment of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.

  ObjectiveTo study the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in lung tissue of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH) and the inhibiting effect on PCNA expression by iptakalim hydrochloride,a novel ATP sensitive potassium channel opener (KATPCOS). MethodsThirtysix SD rats were randomised into three equal groups, the control group and HPH group were given 5.0 mL·kg^-1·d^-1 0.9% sodium chloride injection, ig; the IPT group were given 1.5 mL·kg^-1·d^-1 IPT injection, ig. The rats in the HPH group and IPT group were fed in normobaric environment of (10.0±0.5)% oxygen 8 hour a day, 6 days a week, for 4 weeks. PCNA mRNA expression in lung tissue and PCNA staining in small pulmonary aterial smooth muscle cell (PASMC) were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and S-P immunohistochemical analysis, respectively. ResultsPCNA mRNA expression and PCNA staining positive cells in the HPH group increased significantly compared with the control group (P＜0.01).The PCNA mRNA expression and PCNA staining positive rate were lowered 64.5% and 59.9%, respectively, compared with the HPH group (P＜0.01). ConclusionPCNA expression in lung tissue and PASMC increased in HPH, and iptakalim can inhibit the increasing. Iptakalim may be an effective drug in reducing pulmonary vascular proliferation in HPH.
