    Objective To study the effects of flavonoids from Scutellaria Barbata on β-amyloid protein 25-35 (Aβ25-35)induced injury of rats’ astrocytes. Methods Rats’ astrocytes of passage 3 were divided into blank control group, model control group, small, middle and large doses (17.5, 35.0 and 70.0 μg.mL-1, respectively) of Scutellaria Barbata flavonoids groups.After treatment by 17.5, 35.0 and 70.0 μg.mL-1 of Scutellaria Barbata flavonoids for 24 h, the cells of model control, small, middle and large dose groups were added with Aβ25-35 (final concentration: 100 μmol.L-1) and cultured for another 24 h.MTT colorimetric method was used to measure cell viability, spectrophotometry to determine LDH content in cultured medium, immunohistochemistry to detect cellular LDH, ELISA to detect IL-1β and IL-6 levels in culture medium. Results As compared with blank control group, cell survival rate of model control group was significantly decreased by 49.94% (P<0.01).As compared with model control group, cell survival rate was increased by 12.50% (P<0.05), 16.67% (P<0.01) and 2.08% (P>0.05) in small, medium and large dose groups, respectively.As compared with blank control group, LDH of supernatant fluid was significantly decreased by 36.65% (P<0.01).As compared with model control group, LDH level was increased by 11.35% (P>0.05), 26.40% (P<0.01) and 32.44% (P<0.01) in the small, medium and large dose groups.As compared with blank control group, positive area proportion of LDH protein in astrocytes was decreased by 24.92% (P<0.05).As compared with model control group, positive area proportion of LDH protein was increased by 31.20% and 53.60% in medium and large dose groups, respectively.As compared with blank control group, IL-1β and IL-6 were significantly decreased in the model control group by 23.60% and 15.47% (P<0.01), respectively.As compared with model control group, IL-1β and IL-6 were increased in small, medium and large dose groups, and IL-1β was increased by 5.74% (P>0.05), 24.82% (P<0.01) and 6.86% (P>0.05), respectively; IL-6 was increased by 11.30% (P<0.05), 17.39% (P<0.01) and 3.87% (P>0.05), respectively. Conclusion Scutellaria Barbata falvonoids exert protective effect on Aβ25-35induced astrocyte injury.Scutellaria Barbata flavonoids might treat Alzheimer’s disease through influencing astrocytes.

    Objective To investigate the effect of cholestyramine and azintamide therapeutic alliance on bile acid metabolism in diabetic mice. Methods Construction of diabetic mice model , the mice were randomly divided into four groups: normal control group: with ordinary diet feeding; model control group: with high fat and sugar diet feeding; cholestyramine group: adding cholestyramine into high fat and sugar diet feeding; combined treatment group: adding cholestyramine and azintamide into high fat and sugar diet feeding. Monitoring blood glucose, after 12 weeks , the mice were sacrificed. Bile acid test kit measured feces, liver, blood bile acid concentration. RT-PCR detect bile acid metabolism related genes FXR, CYP7A1, CYP27A1 mRNA expression. Western blot detect CYP7A1 and CYP27A1 protein expression. Results With cholestyramine and azintamide combined therapy, the blood glucose of diabetic mice significantly reduced, feces, blood and liver bile acid concentration significantly increased, FXR mRNA expression reduced, CYP7A1 mRNA expression increased, CYP7A1 protein expression was also significantly increased, and CYP27A1 mRNA and protein expression was not significantly different. Conclusion Cholestyramine and azintamide combination therapy in diabetic mice can be enhanced bile acid synthesis, this process associated with the classical bile acids synthesis pathway.

    Objective To examine the effect of daurinoline on endothelial-dependent andindependent vasorelaxation in the rabbit internal carotid arterial (ICA) ring. Methods Internal carotid artery was isolated from specific pathogenfree adult rabbits.The blood vessel endothelium was injured by mechanical method.Diastole reaction of the sample to 1 mol.L-1 acetyl choline was observed to determine injury of the blood vessel endothelium.Relaxant effect of daurinoline on internal carotid artery smooth muscle was detected. Results Daurinoline significantly relaxed internal carotid artery constricted by methoxamine, KCl and 5histamine.In the aortic rings with intact endothelium, maximal relaxation was 89%, 90% and 80%, respectively, and the maximal relaxation was 75%, 74% and 78% in isolated aortic rings with endothelium injury, respectively.The relaxant effect had no relationship with endothelium injury (P>0.05).However, in 5hydroxytryptamine induced constriction, the relaxant effect of daurinoline was associated with integrity of endothelium; the relaxant effect of the same dose of daurinoline was significantly greater on artery with intact endothelium than on artery with endothelium injury (P<0.05). Conclusion Daurinoline has relaxation effect on rabbits internal carotid artery smooth muscle.The relaxation action is not obviously associated with the endothelium integrity.

    Objective To study the effect of recombinant human granulocyte/macrophage colony stimulating factor (rhGM-CSF) on wound healing in rat model of deep seconddegree burn. Methods The burn model was established with Wistar rats.They were randomly divided into three groups, petrolatum treatment group (group A, n=30), nanosilver treatment group (group B, n=30), and rhGM-CSF treatment group (group C, n=30).Pathological changes of wound of the three groups were observed on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, 14th, and 21st day after treatment.Meanwhile the concentration of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in serum was measured with ELISA, and TGF-β1 mRNA expression was detected by RT-PCR. Results Epithelization was observed in all the groups on the 10th day after treatment.EGF level increased gradually, and it increased most slowly in group A, and fastest in group C.There was no significant difference in EGF level among the groups on the 1st and 4th days, and between group A and B on the 7th day (P>0.05).But there was significant difference in in EGF level between group A and C, between group B and C on day 7, and among the groups on day 10, 14 and 21, respectively (P<0.05).Relative expression of TGF-β1 mRNA was gradually increased in group A and group B, and peaked on day 14 and decreased on day 21 in group C.There was significant difference between group B and group C on day 1 (P<0.05), no significant difference on day 4 (P>0.05) and significant difference among the groups on day 7, 10, 14 and 21 (P<0.05). Conclusion rhGM-CSF treatment can accelerate healing of burn wound.

    Objective To detect polypeptides with molecular weight less than 10 000 from the goose’s spleen, and their influence on mouse lymphocyte transformation and phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophages. Methods The polypeptides with molecular weight less than 10 000 from the goose’s spleen were obtained by refrigerated centrifugation dialysis method.The content of polypeptides was certified by ultraviolet spectrophotometer, amino acid detector and atomic absorption detector.The polypeptides were intramuscularly injected into Kunming mice at large, medium and small doses for 14 days.Mouse lymphocyte transformation and phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophages were observed. Results Polypeptides were obtained from the goose’s spleen, pH=6.1, and content of micromolecule polypeptide was 23.78 μg.mL-1.Component identification showed the polypeptides consisted of over 10 kinds of amino acids and 6 types of trace elements.In the three polypeptide dose groups, lymphocyte transformation and phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophages were significantly improved as compared with blank control group (P<0.05).In toxicity test, medium lethal concentration (LD50)was more than 4 g.kg-1. Conclusion Lienal polypeptides of goose can regulate and enhance mouse immunity obviously.

    Objective To investigate effects of resveratrol on the growth and cell cycle of human hepatoblastomaderived HepG-2 cell line. Methods Resveratrol was extracted by microwaveassisted method and HepG-2 cells were exposed to resveratrol at different concentrations (12.5, 25.0, 50.0, 100.0 μmol.L-1).The viability of HepG-2 cells was measured by MTT.Morphologic changes of the cells were observed under the phase contrast microcope.The cell cycle of HepG-2 cells treated with resveratrol was analyzed by flow cytometry. Results Resveratrol could significantly inhibit proliferation of HepG-2 cells and increase the cells in the S phase in a dosedependent manner.After 48 h treatment with different concentrations of resveratrol (12.5, 25.0, 50.0 and 100.0 μmol.L-1), the cell proportion of G0/G1 phase decreased as compared with control group (P<0.05).The cell proportion of S phase increased in a dosedependent manner, ranging from (44.82±1.21)%, (54.00±1.71)%, (65.21±3.66)% and (77.50±4.21)%, respectively, in the treatment groups as compared with negative control group[(34.75±3.92)%] (P<0.05). Conclusion Resveratrol can inhibit the proliferation of HepG-2 cells in vitro by inducing cell blockage at S phase.

    Objective To investigate the anxiolytic effects of the ethanol extract of Passiflora edulis and the related mechanism. Methods Sixty mice were randomly divided into five groups,including blank control group,positive control group,highdose,mediumdose,and lowdose extract groups. Mice of highdose,mediumdose,and lowdose extract groups were given 800,400,200 mg.kg-1.d-1 of extract of Passilora edulis.Mice of positive control group were given 2 mg.kg-1.d-1 of diazepam. Mice of blank control group were given equal volume of 1% sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose.Mice in all groups were treated for 7 consecutive days. Elevated plusmaze (EPM) test was used to assess antianxiety effect of Passiflora edulis in Kunming mice.Amplified products were analyzed by PCR. Results The ethanol extract of Passiflora edulis (400 and 800 mg.kg-1.d-1) significantly increased the percentage of the times of mouse entering the open arms and stay duration in the total period and it could increase the time of passing the box.Realtime fluorescence quantification PCR showed that the ethanol extract of Passiflora edulis (400 and 800 mg.kg-1.d-1) increased the mRNA expression of α2 and α3 subunits of GABAA receptor. Conclusion The ethanol extract of Passiflora edulis exerts antianxiety effect in the elevated plusmaze test.The mechanism is related to regulation of the mRNA expression of α2 and α3 subunits of GABAA receptor.

    Objective To investigate antidiarrheal effects of polished roundgrained rice soup, longshaped rice soup and millet soup, and the possible mechanism. Methods Acute diarrhea mouse models were established by feeding with folium sennae, and intestine sthenic movement mouse models were prepared with neostigmine.Effect of the three kinds of soup on diarrhea frequency and propelling rate of small intestine was observed, and the antidiarrheal effect of different concentrations of polished roundgrained rice soup were further studied. Results Three rice soup significantly alleviated folium sennaeinduced diarrhea and lessened propulsion of small intestine induced by neostigmine(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Propelling rate of intestine sthenic movement mouse prepared with neostigmine of polished round-grained rice soup, long-shaped rice soup and millet soup were (61.7±15.6)%,(72.8±13.9)%,(71.3±21.2)%;Propelling rate of intestine sthenic movement mouse prepared with neostigmine of high,medium and low dose of polished round-grained rice soup were (58.8±11.4)%,(63.1±12.9)%,(72.3±5.8)%; Propelling rate of normal mouse of high,medium and low dose of polished round-grained rice soup were (68.2±6.1)%,(65.7±7.2)%,(64.4±6.8)%. Conclusion Three rice water has significant antidiarrheal effects, especially japonica rice shows the strongest activity, and it may exert antidiarrheal effects via cholinolytic activity.

    Objective To observe the effectiveness and adverse reactions of oxycodone and acetaminophen combined with pregabalin for the treatment of lumbar disc heriation. Methods Three hundred and nine patients with lumbar disc herniation on orthopedic clinic from January 2012 to January 2014 were enrolled, which were divided into treatment group(n=155) and control group(n=154) with randomization.The treatment group received pregabalin(75 mg ,po,bid ,for the first and second day, and 150 mg,po,bid from the third day) combined with oxycodone and acetaminophen tablets(330 mg,po, tid), while the control group was given pure oxycodone and acetaminophen tablets(330 mg,po,tid).The visual analog scale of pain, numbness, and straight leg raising test were used for efficacy analysis, and to observe whether there were adverse reactions during the treatment. Results After one week of treatment, pain and numbness of patients in both groups were improved(P<0.05),and the treatment group had better effect than the control group(P<0.05).After two weeks of treatment, the straight leg raising test positive rate of the treatment group was 3.87%, which was lower than the control group with the rate of 9.74%(P<0.05).The adverse reactions incidences of two groups were 10.4% and 11.0% for control group and treatment group,respectively(P>0.05). Conclusion Oxycodone and acetaminophen tablets combined with pregabalin can better alleviate the pain and numbness of the patients with more rapid onset without rise of adverse reaction.

    Objective To systematically evaluate whether taking calcium channel blockers(CCB)increases the risk of fractures. Methods Data were collected from Cochrane, PubMed, EMbase (OVID), CBM, VIP, CNKI and Wanfang databases.The Meta analysis was performed using RevMan5.2 software after evaluating the data quality. Results A total of 499 454 cases were included from 2 casecontrol studies and 2 cohort studies.Meta analysis showed no significant risk of fracture in patients taking CCB (OR=1.23, 95% CI, 0.84-1.81, P=0.29).Subgroup analysis showed that longterm treatment with CCB significantly decreased the risk of fractures (OR=0.94, 95% CI, 0.92-0.96, P=0.00), even though a trend of increased fracture risk existed in patients exposed to shortterm treatment (OR=1.30, 95% CI, 0.83-2.03, P=0.25). Conclusion Current evidence show that CCB administration does not increase the risk of fractures.The higher risk of fractures from short term use of CCB may result from the higher risk of falls,which remind us to improve the quality of nursing and strengthen selfawareness during the initial use of CCB.Restricted to the quantity and quality of literatures included, the Conclusion s are to be verified by more highquality studies.

    Objective To observe effects of fuzi injection on bone metabolism and bone mineral density (BMD) in ovariectomized rats with osteoporosis. Methods A total of 60 clean grade female Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation group,model control group,fuzi injection lowdose,middledose,highdose group and positive control group with 10 rats in each group.Osteoporosis rat model was established in model control group,fuzi injecton groups and positive control group.Fuzi injection groups received fuzi injection (5,10 and 20 g.kg-1) and positive control group received positive control (0.05 g.kg-1) by intravenous injection once daily for 8 weeks.Sham operation group and model control group were intravenously injected with the same volume of normal saline once a day for 8 weeks.Levels of serum calcium and phosphorus,BMD,uterus index,Bone gla protein (BGP),alkaline phosphatase (ALP),creatinine (Cr),deoxypyridinoline (DPD),rabecular thickness and trabecular space were examined. Results Compared with the sham operation group,levels of serum calcium,phosphorus,urine levels of Ca/Cr,P/Cr,DPD/Cr and trabecular space in model control group significantly increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01),while BMD,uterus index,BGP,ALP and trabecular thickness decreased significantly (P<0.01).Compared with the model control group,levels of serum calcium,phosphorus,urine levels of Ca/Cr,P/Cr,DPD/Cr and trabecular space in both fuzi group and positive control group decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01),while BMD,BGP,ALP and trabecular thickness increased significantly (P<0.01).Uterus index in positive control group increased significantly compared to the model control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Both fuzi and positive control injections can improve some biochemical indices of bone metabolism in osteoporosis.The uteral stimulation effect by high dose fuzi injection is lower than positive control and the mechanism needs further investigation.

    Objective To observe the antiarthritic effect and the mechanism of total flavonoids of Lantana Camara on rats with Collagen Ⅱinduced arthritis. Methods Arthritis rat model was established with Collagen Ⅱ.The rats with arthritis were divided into five groups: normal control group, model control group, ibuprofen group (50 mg.kg-1), large dose (100 mg.kg-1) and small dose (25 mg.kg-1) of total flavonoids of Lantana Camara group.The medicines were given once daily for 21 days.The changes of paw swelling and arthritis index were observed.Levels of interleukin1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), superoxidedismutase (SOD) and malonic dialdehyde (MAD) in inflammatory tissue fluid were determined. Results Compared with model control group, the total flavonoids of Lantana Camara inhibited paw edema and decreased arthritis index in arthritis rats significantly.Rate of paw edema was (61.85±15.26)% and (47.04±14.20)% in model control group and large dose group, respectively.Arthritis index was 4.76±1.27 and 3.69±0.53 in model control group and large dose group, respectively (P<0.05).As compared with model control group, total flavonoids of Lantana Camara in large dose significantly decreased levels of IL-1β [(888.62±73.28) μg.mL-1 vs.(805.75±98.51) μg.mL-1, P<0.05] and TNF-α [(928.80±81.37) μg.mL-1 vs.(820.23±126.40) μg.mL-1, P<0.05]; the level of MDA was significantly decreased and the activity of SOD significantly improved in large dose of total flavonoids of Lantana Camara group [(26.28±4.94) nmol.mL-1 vs.(21.56±5.01) nmol.mL-1, (159.68±51.18) U.mL-1 vs.(212.08±54.65) U.mL-1, respectively, P<0.05]. Conclusion The total flavonoids of Lantana Camara has therapeutic effect on arthritis rats.The antiarthritic effect is closely related to serum levels of IL-1β, TNF-α, and antioxidation ability.

    Objective To establish a method to assay the content and distribution of two active ingredients, gallic acid and paeonol in Paeonia delavayi var.lutea. Methods HPLC was adopted.The chromatograph column was Agilent TCC18 spin column (4.6 mm×150 mm, 5 μm), mobile phase was acetonitrile0.1% phosphoric acid, and gradient elution was used.Elution condition was 0 min→25 min→45 min, the content of acetonitrile was 0%→24%→36%, the flow rate was 0.8 mL.min-1, detection wavelength was 274 nm, and column temperature was 30 ℃. Results The linear range of gallic acid and paeonol was 0.10-2.00 μg (r=0.999 8, n=6) and 0.005 2-0.104 0 μg (r=1.000 0, n=6), the average recovery was 102.16% (RSD=2.51%) and 97.61% (RSD=1.34%), respectively.The content order of gallic acid in different parts was fruit>leaf>epidermis> phelloderm>wood>stem.The content order of paeonol in different parts was phellodem>epidermis>wood>stem, but paeonol was not detected in fruits and leaves. Conclusion This method is accurate and simple, and can serve as a more reasonable and reliable quality control method for extraction of Paeonia delavayi var.lutea.

    Objective To establish an ultraperformance liquid chromatography (UPLC) method for detecting content of uridine, guanosine and adenosine in Pinellia ternata. Methods Acquity UPLC Ben C18 (2.1 mm×50 mm, 1.7 μm) was used.The mobile phase was methanol and water by gradient elution mode, and the column temperature was 30 ℃.The flow rate was 0.5 mL.min-1 and the detection wavelength was 254 nm. Results The linear range of uridine was 2.214-22.14 μg.mL-1.The regression equation was Y=93 991 X-1 653 (r=0.999 9).The linear range of guanosine was 1.212-12.12 μg.mL-1, and the regression equation was Y=61 542 X-806 (r=0.999 9).The linear range of adenosine was 0.245 2-2.452 0 μg.mL-1, and the regression equation was Y=14 994X-145 (r=0.999 9).The average recovery was 99.18% (RSD=2.40%), 98.88% (RSD=1.16%) and 98.66% (RSD=0.97%) for uridine, guanosine and adenosine, respectively. Conclusion The method is rapid, reliable and can be used to determine nucleosides in Pinellia ternate.

    Objective To investigate the purification technology and antioxidant activity of the total polyphenols from the leaves of Apocynum venetum L.. Methods The adsorption rate and desorption rate served as detection indicators.Optimum HPD300 resin for purification of total polyphenols was determined by static adsorption experiments.The conditions of the optimum macroporous resin were investigated through the experiment of dynamic adsorption and desorption experiment. Results The optimum conditions of purification were as follows: sample concentration was 6.0 mg.mL-1, flow rate was 2 BV.h-1 and maximum solution treatment capacity was 8 BV.The eluting agent was 5 BV purified water, with the total polyphenols being desorbed by 3 BV of 50% alcohol at the flow rate 2 BV.h-1. Conclusion Under the optimum conditions mentioned above, the purity of total polyphenols shows better antioxidant effect after purification.

    Objective To compare the differences of two different Methods to extract Curcuma longa L.oil. Methods Through gas chromatographymass spectrometer (GC-MS) method, the different components of Curcuma longa L.oil extracted by automatic headspace (HS) and steaming distillation method were determined. Results By using automatic headspace GC-MS (HSGC-MS), 56 kinds of compounds from Curcuma longa L.oil were extracted and analyzed.By using steaming distillation method, only 32 kinds of compounds were obtained, and 22 compounds were the same with those analyzed by HSGC-MS. Conclusion The method of HSGC-MS can be faster, more accurate and more comprehensive to determine the components of the Curcuma longa L.oil.

Methods The optimal formula of hydrogel was screened by single factor test and prepared by acidbase Methods .Quality of the formula was assessed by observation of appearance, stability test, pH test, viscosity determination, irritating test and bacteriostatic experiment, etc. Results According to 100 mL of total distilled water, the proportion by weight of carbomer 941, ethylparaben, phenoxy ethanol, propylene glycol, glycerin, and triethanolamine was equal to 0.3:0.2:6.0:6.0:6.0:1.2 in the optimized hydrogel formula.The sample was clear and transparent with stability.The pH value of fresh preparation and diluted carbomer gels was (6.380±0.053) and (6.710±0.017), respectively without irritation and allergic reaction.The viscosity and density of hydrogel were (21.23±0.31) Pa.s and (1.016±0.012) g.(cm3)-1 , and it was nonirritating to skin, so that it could easily be spread on the skins.Furthermore, it could effectively inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli and pseudomonas aeruginosa. Conclusion Carbomer hydrogel can be formulated successfully, which would be widely used as sterilized medical coupling agents in clinical ultrasonography.

    Objective To establish a method to determine the costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone content of xianglian pellet simultaneously, and analyze the content of the two components in xianglian pallets from different manufacturers. Methods The column was Chromstar C18 (4.6 mm×200 mm, 5 μm), the mobile phase was methanolwater (65:35), the flow rate was l mL.min-1, the detection wavelength was 225 nm, and the column temperature was 30 ℃. Results Costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone contents had good linear relationships with their peak area in the ranges of 0.009 4-0.023 6 μg and 0.021 8-0.108 8 μg (r=0.999 6 and 0.999 2), respectively.The recovery rates of costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone were both among the range of 95%–105%.The content range of costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone in xianglian pellet from different manufacturers was 0.16-0.83 mg.g-1 and 1.45-7.40 mg.g-1, respectively. Conclusion The established method can exactly determine the content of costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone in xianglian pellet simultaneously.There is a large difference in the content of the two components in xianglian pellet from different manufacturers; therefore it is necessary to control its quality.

    Objective To develop a quality control standard of huanghua tiaoqi decoction of Zhuang Medicine. Methods Thin layer chromatography (TLC) was applied to identify Astragali radix, Lonicerae flos, and Folium rubi suavissimi.HPLC was employed to determine the content of chlorogenic acid in Lonicerae flos.The chromatography conditions consisted of Ultimate column (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) with mobile phase of methaonlwaterglacial acetic acid (20:80:1), column temperature of 30 ℃, flow rate of 1.0 mL.min-1, UV detection wavelength of 327 nm, and injection volume of 10 μL. Results Astragali radix, Lonicerae flos, Folium rubi suavissimi were indentified by TLC.Chlorogenic acid showed a good linear relationship at a range of 0.141 6-0.991 2 μg, r=0.999 9.The average recovery was 102.2%, and RSD was 0.68%. Conclusion The Methods are shown to simple to operate, and can be used for the quality control of huanghua tiaoqi decoction of Zhuang Medicine.

    Objective To study the chemical constituents of volatile oil extracted from xianggui huazhuo capsule. Methods Volatile oil was extracted by watersteam distillation.The components were identified by gas chromatographymass spectrometry (GC-MS) and quantitatively determined by peak area normalization method. Results Thirtyseven compounds were separated by GC and 29 of them were identified, accounting for 90.07% of the total volatile oil.The compounds with relative content of higher than 5% were transcinnamaldehyde (20.77%), cyclohexene (5.49%), naphthalene (5.34%), azulene (6.26%), 2methoxycinnamaldehyde (8.26%), patchouli alcohol (10.43%) and longifonlen aldehyde(10.33%). Conclusion The main components in the volatile oil of xianggui huazhuo capsule are transcinnamaldehyde, patchouli alcohol, longifolen aldehyde, azulene, 2methoxycinnamaldehyde, cyclohexene and naphthalene.
